This webinar was organised by Transparency and Truth and focused on one of the most pressing challenges in tobacco prevention: the tobacco industry’s specific targeting of young people. Through subtle and often difficult-to-detect marketing strategies – particularly via social media, collaborations with influencers and lifestyle-focused content – the industry continues to influence young people’s consumption behaviours. The webinar highlighted how the tobacco industry views young people as a key target audience, the tactics used to achieve this and the role that prevention can play.
