World No Tobacco Day 2025: Unmasking the appeal

On the occasion of WHO World No Tobacco Day, Transparency and Truth is publishing a press release, a factsheet, and visuals to reveal the tobacco industry’s insidious tactics.

Its goal? To make the packaging of its products increasingly attractive, especially to young people.

In Switzerland, packaging remains a widely used advertising tool for cigarette manufacturers. While the effectiveness of plain packaging (without logos, containing large graphic warnings, with plain, unattractive typography and colors) in reducing consumption has been proven internationally, this measure has still not been adopted in our country.
